| SCOR Awards Scholarships |
[06/28/2007] |
Congratulations to the High School Scholarship Recipients
The Ridgefield High School class of 2007 celebrated its graduation this past Sunday. On June 9, 2007 at the Ridgefield High School awards program, SCOR awarded six scholarships of $500 each to a group of outstanding student athletes.
The SCOR Scholarship
In selecting our scholarship winners, we considered many factors, including the many years each nominee spent as a member of SCOR, the time and effort put forth by each nominee into being a volunteer coach or referee, as well as the high school record and the overall character of each nominee. Being selected as Scholarship winner is a testament to each person's record of achievement and exceptional character.
The awards went to:
Amy Goodfriend
Seb Word
Kade Krichko
John Powers
The SCOR Scholarship awards were funded 100% by donations received from you, our SCOR members, during the registration process. Thank you for recognizing the importance supporting our players who choose to give back to the club and community that started their involvement in soccer.
The Diniz Award
The Al Diniz Scholarship recognizes a graduating Senior who was: a member of the Ridgefield High School Varsity Soccer Team; set the tone for a rewarding season by having led his or her peers as an exceptional player; acted as a role model for other players; demonstrated, in all circumstances, respect for his or her coach and the High School soccer program.
The awards went to:
Lauren Walsh
Tom Fisher
The main reason that SCOR exists is to help our members develop both as soccer players and as responsible members of our community. We take great pride in our distinguished "graduates" and we see these scholarships as important way of fulfilling our Mission as a club. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
